Our Junior aMuse Journey Speak Out Projects
Our girls completed their Junior aMuse Journey work, culminating in a collaborative creative exercise in sharing their concerns about an issue in sterotyping in the hopes of working towards helping people to no longer stereotype in this way.
While we discussed a few types of stereotypes, the girls voted and wanted to focus on a stereotype that that hit home for them - That those that wear glasses are smarter than those that do not! Some expanded the topic to include how wearing glasses may get you social ostracized too.
Nearly half of our troop wears glasses, so it's something they felt they experienced often and wanted to speak out about.
Let us know what you think in the comments. Thanks!
